"A leopard is chasing us, and you're asking me is it male or female."
These days folks are worried about a million things, Covid-19, terrorism, global warming, the stock market, the job market, to name a few.
The World is a Ball of Confusion, and brooding on those things can hurt our immune systems, make us irritable, create anxiety, and contribute to heart disease – which raises our chances of dying early.
Many things we worry about pose little personal risk. At the same time, we overlook dangers that are much more likely to happen.
Unhealthy diet, texting while driving, overspending, overthinking stuff, not taking any time out of your day to spend with God.
The key to figuring out what to worry about is:
Hint:
Ever since I've gotten to know God, it leads me to believe that the first thing I should be worried about is my relationship with the Lord.
The key is found in scripture.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand
Most of us have many moving parts in our lives, and touching bases with Yahweh will help you change the things you can and deal with the things you can't change.
1 Peter 5:7 Amp
casting all your cares, all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all on Him, for He cares about you with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully.
Have you ever heard of the K.I.S.S. principle? I first heard it while in the Marines. It stands for: keep it simple stupid. Since neither you nor I are stupid, let's put it another way. In small bite-sized pieces, what I'm saying is
First, get away from the leopard.
And if you are running with someone, don't ask them questions that don't help achieve the overall goal. Remember, many folks go by the rule, I don't have to run faster than the leopard; I just have to run faster than you.
Be careful out there.
