Fair or not, acts of terror we never hear about happen every day around the world. One more piece of evidence that America is in more danger from right-wing extremist than threats from outside forces.
If you had any doubts that the media covers terrorist attacks in certain parts of the world better than in others; compare the media’s reaction to the Brussels attack to its response to the attack in Ankara, Turkey; which happened at roughly the same time. There’s no comparison.
Perhaps the greatest difference in post-bombing coverage, though, came in the lessons the media suggested that readers draw from the Brussels and Ankara attacks. Ankara’s bombing was treated as matter-of-fact, if not entirely unremarkable:
The Brussels attacks, meanwhile, were presented as a “shocking turn of events”

I don’t mean to minimize any of the dreadful hurt and pain caused by the foreign strikes against America and my fellow Americans; I’m game to defend our country from any threat. But… we must make sure to recognize and engage all threats both foreign and domestic
