The stress of living in today’s fast-paced, 24-hour  world is daunting. Juggling our personal lives and work has never been an easy job. Frequently new technology is causing more stress than it relieves. Have you ever noticed people checking their smartphones while eating lunch, or while on a date. Some can’t even put their phone down when they’re driving. Speaking of lunch, shouldn’t lunch time be a time to relax and eat something that fights anxiety instead of monitoring your phone?

Stress is how the body responds to the demands and challenges of everyday life. Everyday pressures can come from many sources and tension is a necessary part of life. Money problems, and who doesn’t have them; annoying people and managing our daily life can all lead to stress.

What Are Some of The Best Foods for Stress Busting?

How we react to stress has a great deal to do with our health. What if I told you that you can use food as medicine to decrease the effects of stress on your body.
Dominique Astorino from popsugar.com wrote a wonderful article on this subject.

We talked to a New York-based registered nurse with an emphasis in holistic medicine and a doctor with an MD and an ND (Naturopathic Doctorate), Rebecca Lee, RN and founder of RemediesForMe.com, and Carolyn Dean, MD, ND, a stress management expert and author of The Complete Natural Medicine Guide to Women’s Health.

Fighting Stress, Better Sources of B-12 Than Shellfish

The article recommends eating shellfish as a good source of B-12 but as many of my readers know I don’t eat shellfish, and I advise you to leave it out of your diet also. The first reason is Leviticus 11:12 where God tells us that eating shellfish is bad for our health. Secondly, science also tells us that although it may taste delicious shellfish is one of the worst things you can eat. For more information read The Luxury Spot 12 Reasons Shellfish is Unhealthy. What Actually Happens When You’re Stressed

Stressed out

Most of us can’t escape the strains and obligations of the daily grind. My best defense against being ground down to a nub is…

Philippians 4:6,7.  “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

This is a great verse to memorize because…

there’s no real way to live a completely stress-free life. Remember, there are positive stressors as well as negative ones, and the positive ones are usually good experiences that we enjoy or seek out. The same applies for negative stressors: they’re bound to happen eventually and avoiding them is a futile effort.
