Here's 19 Ways to be Clever

  1. 1

Don't be fake. Clever people stay for real. Consider this, have you ever known anyone who was truly clever to be a fake?  I don't mean cunning. Cunning and cleverness sometimes overlap, but they are not the same.---One definition of cunning is skill in achieving one's ends by deceit. Cunning people usually have no integrity and an attitude towards others that will use any means necessary to accomplish their goals. They see others as disposable, as a way to achieve their ends through manipulation.

  2. 2
Don't try to look richer than you actually are. Clever folks don't flex. They don't try to be more than they really are. They know that who you really are always comes out, (Unless you're cunning to the max). Like the old saying goes "they are what we thought they were"
  3. 3
Clever people don't try to look smarter than they actually are. Clever people admit when they don't know something and don't try to pretend like they do. Next, they find out the answer.
  4. 4
Clever people do not set out to impress folks and aren't concerned with just looking good to others.
  5. 5
Being clever calls for keeping your eyes and ears open. Not jumping to conclusions. In a conversation between several people, clever folks are often the last ones to speak. If you wait during a conversation and listen to the different participants you are better equipped to talk and come up with a better solution or bolster the best solution
  1. 6
They are not ruled by their ego.
  2. 7
The cleverest of people base themselves on what's true no matter what.
  3. 8

A key trait is seeing the bigger picture in every situation. They don't have tunnel vision. They step back and look at all the possibilities.

  4. 9
They consider everybody. In order to see the big picture. True cleverness calls for considering everybody. Clever people aren't selfish and they're always one step ahead of their enemies.
  5. 10
They simplify things. They offer simple solutions and don't overcomplicate stuff.

  2. 12
A clever person uses resources at hand to solve problems.
  3. 13
A clever person picks the right problem to start working on according to their situation.  They instinctively know that you can't fix everything.
  4. 14
Clever people manage their Time Wisely.
  5. 15

Be confident. Clever folks are confident. Trick your brain into thinking confidently, even if you're not feeling that way. Be sure to stand tall and walk with a confident stride. Look like you belong wherever you are. Dress appropriately for the situation. Don't cross your arms across your chest, or avoid making eye contact.

  6. 16

Harness the power of positive thinking. If a thought like "I am not ready for this",  "I am not qualified" or "I'm a fool" comes into your head, acknowledge the thought and keep it moving, tell yourself no one's perfect. Part of being clever is realizing that sometimes we do foolish things. What's really foolish is to continue doing them.

  7. 17
Don't compare yourself to other people.
  8. 18

Don't always go by the book. Think outside the box

  9. 19
    Keep up-to-date on world events.

Can a young person be clever, absolutely- if they're smart they will learn from their experiences and be capable at an earlier age.

An older person who has not learned from their experiences won't be wise, intelligent, or clever. Ever
