If you carry the egg basket do not dance. — Ambede proverb

It sounds simple enough. If you're holding a basket of eggs, don't start dancing. In other words, when you find yourself in a shakey situation. Don't do things that compound the risks.
Although we should instinctively know this, the sad truth is that many of us seem to do the exact opposite. It looks like we're just wired to take risks. We drive too fast in the rain on the way to an appointment. What sense does that make? At the most, we may save one or two minutes.
I constantly see people looking at their phones while driving —another high-risk activity.
We're undoubtedly carrying egg baskets when we're out on the roads nowadays.
Similarly, I see lots of people out there "dancing" refusing to wear a mask.
Jesus himself said...

Matthew 4:7

Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'"

Risk-takers tend to ignore the consequences of their behavior. Ever feel like you're one step away from dropping the egg basket? Barely have enough money to pay the rent? Simple; don't take that bus up to Las Vegas betting on winning your rent money.
Well... to tell the truth, it's not always that simple, but if you follow the advice of the Ambede proverb, you'll save yourself a great deal of unnecessary frustration.
Ever notice that when you tell someone not to do something, they sometimes don't listen or get more motivated than ever to do it? I don't know how many times I've seen it before. People who are already in precarious positions, taking totally unnecessary risks.

Anthony Bouchard

"The behavior is purely psychological and is known as reactance, which is a type of mechanism where our brain wants to ensure that we're free to do whatever it is that we want to do with our own lives."

Remind you of something? Sort of like what's going on in the US right now.
As Chris Rock said, in some jobs, "you can't have a few bad apples."
You don't have to be perfect, but you can't make dumb mistakes.
Raising kids, flying airplanes, and carrying baskets of eggs fall into that category. If you have a basket of eggs in your backseat while you're driving and you hit the brakes too hard, you're going to break them.
Hopefully, you've heard the quote about "not putting all your eggs in one basket"; just remember that in this case, you're holding the basket. Don't start dancing yet.
