Love truth even if it hurts you, and hate lies even if they help you, The Moroccan Proverb jumped off of my phone's screen when I read it. After a few years of steadily hearing all of the crazy stuff that I was seeing really wasn’t happening; it was nice to run across this gem.

The most important thing in the world is truth. If you can't tell what the truth is. How can you know the value of anything?  $21.99 Gucci bags anyone?

The truth by definition is the opposite of a lie. If you don't know what the truth is, how do you ever know if someone is lying? The truth's never relative. Opinions are relative the truth is not.

Ephesians 6:14

Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth”

The most important truth of all is the truth about our own character. If we're unwilling or unable to accept the truth about ourselves; we leave ourselves open to hypocrisy and self-deception

Love truth even if it hurts you, and hate lies even if they help you because even though you may be in a difficult, tough situation reality always trumps make-believe. Our goal should always be “speaking the truth in love"

What do you think? How important is it to tell the truth? I would love to hear what you think. Leave a comment below.

Be careful out there.
